Library Resources
The Russell Library houses resources primarily pertaining to the Central Alabama Community College curriculum.  Professional librarians employ a discerning collection development policy that insures a quality collection for use by CACC students.

  • 233 video cassettes
  • 19 audio cassettes
  • Subscriptions to over 200 periodicals and newspapers

The Russell Library recognizes the importance of every information need and strives to make sure that each library user walks away with data that he can use.  For this reason, the library offers the following services to help make research as fast, simple, and convenient as possible:

Library Hours

Alexander City Campus Childersburg Campus
Monday - Thursday  7:45 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Friday  7:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Monday - Thursday  7:30a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Friday  8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.


          The library is not open on Saturday and Sunday and the schedule is subject to change during holidays and academic breaks.

Getting a Library Card

Library cards are available to students free of charge.  If you will come to the circulation desk and fill out the form a card will be issued to you in a matter of minutes.

Checking Out Materials

Library books may be checked out on either campus for a two-week period subject to renewal.  Reference books, magazines, periodicals, pictures, records, tapes, videos, filmstrips and other audiovisual materials, and the Alabama Room collection are in-house resources and do not circulate.

Library Fines

Library fines are $.25 cents per day per book that is overdue.  This fine must be paid before the end of the semester in order to keep holds from being placed on your grades, transcripts and registering fro the next semester.  Fines for reserve material is $.50 per day.
