CACC’s Greg Shivers Named ACCC Softball Coach of the Year for Second Consecutive Season
ALEXANDER CITY, AL — June 5, 2025—Central Alabama Community College is pleased to announce that Greg Shivers, head coach of the Trojan softball team, has been named the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season.
Under Coach Shivers’ leadership, the Trojans had an outstanding season, finishing with an impressive 43-20 overall record. The year’s highlight was a remarkable 34-game winning streak, demonstrating sustained excellence and teamwork.
In addition to the team’s achievements, Shivers guided the ACCC Player of the Year and the ACCC Pitcher of the Year, emphasizing his ability to promote individual player growth while creating a cohesive, championship-caliber team.
President Jeff Lynn expressed his appreciation for Coach Shivers, “Greg’s dedication, skill, and passion for our student-athletes have consistently elevated our softball program. His leadership has brought remarkable success to CACC, both on the field and in the personal growth of our players. We’re incredibly proud of what he and our team have accomplished.”
Reflecting on his recognition, Shivers shared, “I’m honored to receive this award, but the true credit belongs to our incredible players and coaching staff. Their hard work, resilience, and dedication to excellence are the foundations of our success. I’m grateful for the continued support from the college, our fans, and the CACC community.”
