CENTRAL ALABAMA COMMUNITY COLLEGE’S ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAM REACHES MILESTONE

ALEXANDER CITY, AL – July 5, 2023 – Central Alabama Community College (CACC) is proud to report a significant achievement in its Adult Education program. The program has reached a milestone of providing 100 GED/High School Diploma Options (HSDO) for the current program year. This is the highest number since CACC began administering the 2014 Test.

“This is a momentous occasion for our Adult Education program,” said Jeff Lynn, President of CACC. “Our team’s commitment and adherence to providing quality education have made this achievement possible. We are incredibly proud of our students who have worked hard to reach their educational goals.”

The Adult Education program at CACC is designed to provide adults with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the workforce, earn a high school equivalency credential, and transition to postsecondary education or training.

Michael Barnette, Dean of Workforce and Economic Development Programs added, “This milestone is a testament to our program’s strength and our students’ resilience. We are devoted to providing opportunities for adults to improve their lives through education.”

Dr. Jennifer Crowder, Director of Adult Education, echoed these sentiments. “Our program is more than just about numbers. Each of these 100 students represents a life changed, a future brightened. We are excited to continue this work and help even more adults reach their educational goals.”
