Laying the Foundation for What Comes Next

The final chapter of this year’s countdown looks forward, not backward.

The launch of the Central Alabama CC Foundation marked an important step toward strengthening long-term support for students and programs across the College. While the Foundation remains in its infancy, early work has already resulted in secured pledges and contributions, providing momentum and helping shape priorities as preparations continue for a more formal launch in the new year.

The Foundation was established to expand scholarship support, strengthen academic and workforce programs, and create lasting partnerships that directly benefit students. Early engagement from donors and community partners has reinforced the need for a focused, sustainable approach to advancement at CACC.

Throughout the year, efforts have centered on building the right structure for growth. That work has included developing donor outreach strategies, creating foundational communications, and ensuring systems and processes are in place to support the Foundation responsibly as it grows. Rather than rushing to scale, the emphasis has remained on clarity, stewardship, and long-term planning.

Scott Hardy, Executive Director of the Central Alabama CC Foundation, said the early response to the Foundation has been both encouraging and intentional.

“We wanted to be thoughtful about how the Foundation takes shape,” Hardy said. “Securing early pledges and contributions tells us that people believe in what CACC is doing and want to be part of it. As we move toward a more official launch, the focus is on building something that lasts and serves students well for years to come.”

A formal announcement and broader rollout are planned for early 2026, marking the next phase of its development. That launch will introduce the Foundation more fully to alumni, partners, and the wider community, while continuing the work already underway.

As the countdown comes to a close, the Central Alabama CC Foundation represents both progress already made and a commitment to what lies ahead. It serves as a starting point for deeper engagement, expanded opportunity, and continued investment in students and the communities the College serves.
