First Time Freshmen: For the purpose of admissions, a First-Time Freshmen is a student who has not previously attended any college after high school graduation or has completed a GED. Upon applying students are automatically conditionally admitted to Central Alabama Community College. For unconditional admission first-time freshmen need to submit an official high school transcript with graduation date from a public, private, or home school program that is equivalent to the Alabama High School Diploma; or copy of their GED is issued by an appropriate state education agency.

Transfer Student:
For the purpose of admission, a Transfer student is any student who has previously attended another college or university prior to attending CACC. Upon applying students are conditionally admitted to Central Alabama Community College. For unconditional admission transfer students are required to submit official transcripts from any and all institutions they have previously attended.

Returning Student: For the purpose of admission, a Returning student is any student who has previously attended Central Alabama Community College and not attended any other institutions since last attending CACC. If a former CACC student has attended another institution since last attending CACC, they will submit a Transfer student application and meet the Transfer student requirements for unconditional admission.

Dual Enrollment Student: Central Alabama Community College, in partnership with area high schools, offers students the opportunity to enroll for college coursework while completing their high school diploma. Two programs have been approved by the Alabama State Board of Education, the Accelerated High School Student Program and the Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit for High School Student program. Even though the basic criteria for enrollment is similar, each program is unique. Review the following and discuss with your counselor your eligibility and which program best meets your needs.
