Skills for Success

Skills for Success is a workforce training initiative powered by the ACCS Innovation Center, a division of the Alabama Community College System. This program is dedicated to helping individuals gain valuable skills while strengthening Alabama’s economy through accessible, fast-track training.

Courses are designed to close the skills gap and prepare Alabamians for high-demand careers. Each training is tailored specifically for Alabama residents and focuses on delivering quick, industry-recognized credentials in fields where skilled workers are needed most.

Training is offered at no cost, thanks to legislative funding that supports statewide development and delivery.

What Makes Skills for Success Unique?

  • Fast Completion: Courses are designed to be completed quickly, combining online learning with hands-on experience.
  • Flexible Format: Start with self-paced, interactive online modules, then move on to in-person labs at one of Alabama’s 24 community colleges.
  • Real-World Practice: In-person labs simulate actual work environments and assess your mastery of key skills.

Who Can Participate?

The Workforce Development Division at Central Alabama Community College partners with high schools and non-profit organizations to expand access. Community members can also enroll individually in select programs—such as Truck Driving, which leads to a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
