Each semester, the CACC Library highlighted student research and creativity through Trojan Trailblazers: A CACC Student Showcase, giving students an opportunity to share work they developed during their time at the College or through personal research projects.

During the Fall 2025 showcase, seven students presented on a wide range of topics, including censorship, chemistry, psychology, and scientific research. Students delivered short presentations that reflected both academic study and personal curiosity, with a panel selecting the top three entries.

The first-place presentation was awarded to Mackenzie Moseley for “Endorphins? Nope! The Surprising Chemistry Behind the Runner’s High,” which explored the science behind physical exertion and the body’s response to exercise.

Second place went to Lynlee Ratliff and Addi Peters for “Droplets That Hold Together, Don’t Get Cold Together: A Study of Cooling Behavior in Jet Nebulized Liquids,” a research project focused on chemical behavior and experimental analysis.

Isabella Tucker earned third place for “Facing the Truth: Censorship in To Kill a Mockingbird,” which examined literary censorship and its broader implications.

Leslie Rewis, Alexander City campus librarian, said the showcase gave students a chance to take ownership of their work and share it beyond the classroom.

“Trojan Trailblazers gives students a place to speak confidently about what they’ve learned and what interests them,” Rewis said. “It’s not just about winning. It’s about learning how to communicate ideas, think critically, and be proud of the work they’ve done.”

The showcase also provided students with experience presenting research in a supportive setting, helping them build confidence and sharpen skills that carry over into future coursework, careers, and continued education.

Through events like Trojan Trailblazers, the CACC Library continues to support student learning by creating opportunities for students to explore ideas, ask questions, and share their work with others on campus.
