Central Alabama Community College to Host Water Supply Officer and Rural Water Supply Operations Seminars

ALEXANDER CITY, AL – September 26, 2024 – Central Alabama Community College (CACC) is proud to announce that it will host two important seminars this October focused on water supply and rural water supply operations. These events are essential for enhancing the skills and knowledge of our fire service professionals.

Event Details:

Water Supply Officer Seminar

Date: Friday, October 11, 2024

Presented by: Dadeville Fire Department

Topics: Municipal Water Supply Systems, Testing and Inspection of Water Supply System Components, Water Supply Pre-Planning, and more.

Rural Water Supply Operations Seminar

Dates: Saturday, October 12, and Sunday, October 13, 2024

Partnership: East Alabama Training Association, Alexander City, Dadeville, and Union Fire Departments

Topics: Fire Flow Needs, Dump Site Operations, Practical Exercises, and more.

Central Alabama Community College President Jeff Lynn emphasized the college’s commitment to community support and education: “We are honored to partner with local fire departments to host these vital training seminars. At CACC, we strive to support our community and ensure that our first responders have access to the highest quality training and education.”

Dadeville Fire Chief Chris Atkins highlighted the significance of the Water Supply Officer Seminar: “This seminar is crucial for improving our municipal water supply systems and ensuring that our fire departments are well-prepared for any situation. We are grateful to CACC for hosting this event and helping us enhance our capabilities.”

These seminars will provide comprehensive training on essential water supply and fire operations topics. Participants will gain practical experience and valuable knowledge to enhance their capabilities in managing water supply systems and rural fire operations. Captain Jeff Brewer from Alexander City’s Fire Department stressed the importance of the Rural Water Supply Operations Seminar: “Rural areas present unique challenges for fire services.
