CACC Softball Sweeps Reid State, Stays Atop ACCC Standings
Alexander City, AL — Dominant pitching and solid defense powered CACC Softball to a doubleheader sweep of Reid State CC on Wednesday, with victories of 3-0 and 6-1. The wins keep the Trojans among the leaders in the ACCC standings heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
In game one, Madyson Snedigar delivered a standout performance in the circle, tossing a complete-game no-hitter. The freshman right-hander went all seven innings, striking out eight while facing minimal threats thanks to sharp defensive play behind her.
Offensively, McKinley Allen set the tone, going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with two doubles and two runs scored. Olivia Brackner added to the attack, finishing 2-for-3 with two RBI to help secure the shutout win.
Game two saw more strong pitching, as Kayden Tarvin earned the victory after working six innings. Emma Gaither came on in relief to close out the final frame. The Trojan offense struck early, plating six runs over the first two innings to take control of the game.
Morgan Phillips and Olivia Brackner led the offensive effort in the nightcap, as CACC consistently put runners on base but was unable to add to its early lead.
CACC will wrap up the regular season with a final doubleheader on Friday at Reid State CC.
