Senator Chambliss Presents $80,000 Check to CACC to Help with New Campus Location

Senator Clyde Chambliss of Prattville presented Central Alabama Community College Interim President Jeff Lynn with a check in the amount of $80,000 to go towards CACC’s new campus location search in the Autauga/Elmore counties area. This money will help CACC with the architect / site search for the new permanent campus.

“There is a tremendous gap in 2-year education in Autauga and Elmore Counties," Senator Chambliss stated.
“If you look at a map of the community college system, it is obvious. Coupled with the fact that these are two of the fastest growing counties in the state, it just makes good sense to have a 2-year college system here to help train the work force for tomorrow. I’m all-in on doing everything that I can to give our younger citizens the same opportunity that is found in other parts of the state.”

CACC currently has a site in the Pratt’s Mill Shopping Center. The site opened in Fall 2018.

“We are very excited about the opportunities in Autauga and Elmore counties, " Jeff Lynn, interim president of CACC mentioned. “I am extremely thankful to Senator Chambliss for his contribution and support of the college. We are currently looking for the right site/ location to locate our new campus on. We have already envisioned what this campus will look like, and we want to make sure the property is perfectly aligned for future growth. We are honored to serve the citizens of Autauga and Elmore counties, and look forward to continuing a great relationship with all of the communities in this area.”
