Trojans Sweep Doubleheader in High-Scoring Saturday

ALEXANDER CITY, AL — Central Alabama Community College baseball earned a hard-fought doubleheader sweep over Marion Military Institute on Saturday, winning by scores of 6-4 and 14-13 in an action-packed afternoon.

In game one, the Trojans used timely power to secure the victory. Olin Ward and Deuce Mitchell each blasted two-run home runs, while Ryder Hartin added two RBIs to lead the offense. Jaden Hill picked up the win on the mound, with Nic Romango closing the door to earn the save.

Game two turned into a slugfest, with CACC erupting for 16 hits to outlast Marion Military Institute. Camron Donahue led the offensive charge, going 4-for-5 with two RBIs, while Davis Gulley added three hits and two RBIs in a strong performance at the plate. Brady Thomas also contributed a home run as part of the Trojans’ offensive outburst.

Nic Romagno earned the win in game two, as CACC pushed across the decisive run in the seventh inning to complete the sweep.

The Trojans will return to action March 31 on the road against Southern Union.
