CACC Adult Education Program Recognizes 116 GED and High School Diploma Graduates
ALEXANDER CITY, AL – July 9, 2025 – Central Alabama Community College (CACC) is proud to celebrate 116 adult learners who have earned their GED or high school diploma through the College’s Adult Education program during the 2024–2025 year.
Led by Lynn Chambers, Director of Adult Learning, the program supports adults across the region who are working to finish their education and create new opportunities for themselves and their families.
“This group of students showed incredible determination,” said Chambers. “Many of them returned to the classroom while juggling jobs, raising kids, and overcoming real obstacles. They made a commitment to themselves, and we’re proud to walk beside them.”
CACC’s Adult Education program provides free instruction and support to individuals seeking to earn a high school credential, enhance their academic skills, or prepare for college or workforce training. With flexible class times, local learning sites, and experienced instructors, the program creates an environment where adults can learn at their own pace.
“These students made a decision to keep going,” said CACC President Jeff Lynn. “They didn’t let setbacks define their future. What they’ve accomplished is something to be proud of, and it’s just the beginning. We look forward to seeing what comes next for each of them.”
Graduates of the program now have more options for continuing their education, advancing their careers, or supporting their families. The College remains committed to helping them take the next step.
“Education brings confidence,” said Chambers. “It opens doors, builds momentum, and gives people choices. That’s what this program is all about.”
Enrollment for CACC’s Adult Education program is open year-round. To learn more, visit www.cacc.edu or call (256) 378-2017.
