CACC Baseball Splits Rooad Doubleheader

MONROEVILLE, AL — The Central Alabama Community College Trojans traveled to Monroeville on Thursday, coming away with a split in a competitive doubleheader against Coastal Alabama-North. CACC took the opener 6-4 before falling 10-2 in the nightcap.
Game 1: Ward’s Power Leads Trojans to Victory
Right fielder Olin Ward put on an offensive clinic in game one, powering the Trojans to a 6-4 win. Ward finished 2-for-4 at the plate, including a crucial home run, while accounting for four RBIs and scoring twice. Brady Thomas and Parker McNeal provided extra-base support, each tagging a double to keep the pressure on the Coastal-North defense. On the mound, Nick Romango earned the win in relief, entering the game in the 6th inning to shut the door and secure the victory.
Game 2: Coastal-North Rallies to Take Nightcap
In the second contest, the Trojans jumped out to an early lead but were unable to withstand a late surge from Coastal-North, eventually falling 10-2. Catcher Sam Carter was a bright spot for the CACC offense, going 2-for-3 and scoring both of the Trojans' runs. AJ Sanchez added a hit and an RBI in the effort.
