CACC Honors Employees’ Years of Service at Fall Professional Development

Alexander City, Ala. – Central Alabama Community College (CACC) proudly recognized its employees’ years of service during the Fall Professional Development (PD) event on Friday, September 25. Service milestones are calculated as of September 1. Collectively, the 140+ employees gathered for the college represented more than 800 years of service.

“We are grateful for every one of our team members at CACC,” said CACC President Jeff Lynn. “Thank you to all employees for your commitment to CACC and our students!”

The longest tenured employee at CACC is Cindy Entrekin who reached 33 years of service in January. Cindy began contributing to the college as a student and has held many roles during her tenure. Other notable service milestones included Steve Lewis (25 years), D.J. James (20 years), Kevin Heath (15 years), Leslie Mitchell (15 years), Melody Borden (15 years), Ben Bailey (10 years), Larry Thomas (10 years), Kendal Entrekin (5 years), Beasley Martin (5 years), Annette Hatch (5 years), and Michael Barnette (5 years).

In today’s workforce, long-term tenure is increasingly rare. Less than 5% of employees nationwide remain with the same employer for at least 25 years, while the average tenure across industries is just 4.1 years. CACC is honored to recognize those who have chosen to build lasting careers with the college.

The college also extended a warm welcome to its newest colleagues. Over the past year, CACC has added 23 full-time employees, representing 16% of the overall team.

This dual celebration of employee dedication and fresh talent highlights CACC’s commitment to building a strong, supportive workplace that serves its students and community for years to come.
