CACC Softball Sweeps Chattahoochee Valley, 9th Win in a Row Moves Into First-Place Tie

ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. — Central Alabama Community College softball stayed red-hot Saturday, sweeping Chattahoochee Valley Community College by scores of 8-0 and 8-3 to move into a first-place tie heading into the final week of the regular season.

In game one, Madyson Snedigar earned the five-inning victory in the circle. After allowing two runners to reach with no outs in the opening inning, the Trojan pitching and defense settled in and held Chattahoochee Valley scoreless the rest of the way.

Offensively, CACC was paced by Morgan Spear, who launched a two-run home run. Olivia Brackner added to the effort, driving in two runs while going 1-for-2 at the plate. Molly Barger delivered a key two-run single to cap the Trojans’ scoring.

The Trojans carried that momentum into game two, securing an 8-3 win to complete the sweep. Brackner continued her standout day, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBIs. AC Thomas contributed three hits, drove in a run, and scored twice, while McKinley Allen added an RBI.

CACC also executed the small game effectively, as Regan Easterwood and Morgan Phillips combined for four sacrifice bunts, each creating scoring opportunities for the Trojans.

With the sweep, CACC enters the final week of conference play tied for first place. The Trojans will wrap up the regular season with a home matchup against Reid State on Thursday, April 22, before traveling to Reid State for a doubleheader on Friday, April 24.
