CACC Softball Sweeps Double Header with MMI

Alexander City, AL- CACC Softball finished off an exciting double header sweep of MMI on Thursday March 26 by the scores of 5-2 and 6-5.
In game one, Madyson Snedigar went the distance in the circle giving up just 2 runs on 6 hits, while striking out seven MMI hitters. CACC continued getting baserunners but unable to plate a run until they scored five times in the 5th inning. McKinley Allen was 1/3 with 2 RBI. Olivia Brackner was 1/3 driving in three runs. Summer Hutcheson was 2/2 with a single and a double and scored a run.
Game two Kayden Tarvin started in the circle giving up 5 runs through six innings with five strikeouts.. With the bases loaded in the 7th and no outs, Emma Gaither came on to pitch and held MMI to only one run on a sac fly. That is when the fireworks started. With the Trojans trailing 5-3, Grayson Tucker got the rally started with a single to left. Ava Hancock entered as a pinch runner. Following a flyout, Summer Hutcheson singled. With runners at first and second, CF Morgan Phillips executed a textbook sacrifice bunt, moving the runners into scoring position. Brooklyn Cochran then singled scoring Hancock and Hutcheson to tie it up. 3B Regan Easterwood kept the rally going with another single, passing the baton to McKinley Allen. Allen delivered a single up the middle scooring Cochran to complete the dramatic comeback. Cocran, Hutcheson, Easterwood and Allen all had two hits in the game.
CACC next travels to Marion, AL for a Saturday DH verse MMI.
