CACC Students and Faculty Serve the Sylacauga Community at Autism Awareness Event

Sylacauga, AL— On April 11, 2026, Central Alabama Community College (CACC) students and faculty showed up in a big way for the Sylacauga community, volunteering at the Sylacauga Autism Initiative’s Celebrate the Exceptional event.
A total of 16 CACC representatives participated, including 12 students and 4 employees, with standout contributions from the Cosmetology and Nursing Departments.
The Cosmetology Department set up an interactive station offering complimentary services, bringing smiles and a personal touch to the day’s festivities.
Following the event, Ravin Cook of the Sylacauga Autism Initiative reached out with heartfelt praise for the CACC team.
“Their dedication, enthusiasm, and professionalism truly made a difference,” Cook wrote. “The level of care, skill, and attention to detail displayed speaks volumes about the quality of education and leadership within your institution.”
A special thank-you goes to Wade Wills, Vanessa Clark, Tanya Hunnicutt, and Jacob Lee for their remarkable involvement and leadership throughout the event.
CACC President Jeff Lynn echoed that sentiment in his response to the volunteer team.
“Thank you for getting involved with the Sylacauga Autism Initiative and representing CACC so well,” President Lynn said. “I appreciate your passion and dedication. This is the type of community event I love to see.”
