CACC’s Prattville Campus Marks Significant Growth Fueled by Community Partnership

PRATTVILLE, Ala. —  Central Alabama Community College (CACC) is building extraordinary momentum at its Prattville Campus through unprecedented enrollment growth, expanded academic and workforce programs, and new facility investments.

Since opening its permanent Prattville Campus in 2022, CACC has shown a 470% enrollment increase. Campus employee salaries have increased from $300,113 to more than $2 million. CACC has invested $20.2 million in the Prattville Campus, with an additional $24.5 million planned for 2026–27, bringing total capital investment to approximately $44.7 million by the end of 2027.

This college’s local economic impact has been supported by the Prattville City Council and Autauga County Commissioners, whose commitments have helped strengthen CACC's educational and workforce mission in the community.

“The success of the Prattville Campus is an incredible example of what can happen when a community invests in education and works together,” said CACC President Jeff Lynn. “We are grateful to the Prattville City Council and the Autauga County Commission for their commitment to our students, our workforce, and the future of this region.”

New Programs

CACC has recently expanded Information Technology programs, including Intel AI courses, cybersecurity, and CIS degrees. Students can now attain an IT associate degree that can transfer to a four-year institution. The College is also seeking approval for what would be Alabama's first two-year degree programs in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

The Prattville Campus manufacturing programs have also expanded to include Welding, Industrial Electronics, Machining, Programmable Logic Control (PLC), Integrated MFG-Automation, and Industrial Automation Tech programs. The Autauga County Technology Center has expanded Welding course offerings and added Industrial Electronics, Nursing apprenticeships, and the Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) program. FAME launched with 8 local industry partners and is expected to add another cohort in 2027, allowing students to attend CACC while working for participating manufacturers.

CACC’s Prattville campus has added healthcare programs including Licensed Practical Nursing, Medical Assisting Technology, Phlebotomy, and Emergency Medical Services, along with new academic offerings in physics, chemistry, biology, anatomy and physiology, microbiology, astronomy, calculus and mathematics. The local campus provides more than 80 free short-term workforce education programs through its Skills for Success initiative.

The campus also serves as a main hub for many community events. Since 2023, CACC has partnered with the Autauga County Board of Education to provide monthly STEM camps. Other events include regular business and industry meetings with the Prattville Chamber, Prattville Pops rehearsals, local voting stations, hiring fairs, 4H events, museum exhibits, and Church of the Highlands worship center.

New CACC Athletics programs have found homes in the Prattville area. Programs for the campus include men’s and women’s tennis (2024), women’s volleyball (2026), men’s and women’s cross country (2027), and women’s flag football (2027). Annual investments in student-athlete scholarships for these Prattville sports have nearly tripled since 2024 due to the campus’s growth.

Looking Ahead

CACC is currently constructing a state-of-the-art Center of Excellence, scheduled to open in summer 2027. The facility will serve as a gateway to Prattville along I-65 and position the campus as a leader in workforce and academic programs. CACC looks forward to the continued partnerships with the Prattville City Council, Autauga County Commission, Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce, local industries, and economic development organizations to expand programs, attract students, support employers, and strengthen the local economy.
