Central Alabama Community College Students to Receive National Recognition at Phi Theta Kappa International Convention
Central Alabama Community College is proud to announce that Rebekah Burton, Kylie Davis, Luke Hanks, Abigail Hyatt, Chloe Russek, Noah White, and Kenny York will be recognized with the prestigious Distinguished Chapter Officer Team Hallmark Award from Phi Theta Kappa during the organization’s 2026 International Convention, scheduled for March 26–28 in Baltimore.
This distinguished honor is awarded at the international level and is among Phi Theta Kappa’s most competitive recognitions. Of the thousands of Phi Theta Kappa chapters worldwide, only 30 chapters are selected each year to receive the Distinguished Chapter Officer Team Hallmark Award. The recognition highlights exceptional leadership, collaboration, and dedication to advancing the Society’s mission of scholarship, leadership, service, and fellowship.
Throughout the academic year, Burton, Davis, Hanks, Hyatt, Russek, White, and York have worked collectively to lead chapter initiatives, coordinate service and fellowship activities, and foster a culture of scholarship and leadership among their peers. Their teamwork and shared vision have strengthened the chapter’s impact and exemplified the values of Phi Theta Kappa.
“This international recognition speaks volumes about the caliber of leadership within our student body,” said Jeff Lynn, President of Central Alabama Community College. “To be named among only 30 chapters worldwide is an extraordinary achievement. We are incredibly proud of these students and the example they set for others.”
The chapter’s Phi Theta Kappa advisor also emphasized the significance of the award.
“I am incredibly proud of Rebekah, Kylie, Luke, Abigail, Chloe, Noah, and Kenny,” said Maribeth Farr, Phi Theta Kappa advisor at Central Alabama Community College. “Their ability to work as a unified team while leading with integrity and purpose is what sets them apart. Earning this level of international recognition places them among the very best chapter leaders in Phi Theta Kappa.”
The 2026 International Convention will bring together top-performing chapters and student leaders from across the United States and around the world to celebrate excellence and share best practices in leadership and service. Award recipients will be formally recognized during the convention’s awards ceremony.
Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society for students at associate degree-granting colleges and recognizes academic achievement while providing opportunities for leadership, service, and professional growth.
