ady Trojans Make History in Inaugural Home Volleyball Match

PRATTVILLE, AL — Central Alabama Community College volleyball made history Friday night as the Lady Trojans played their first-ever home volleyball match on the Prattville Campus, hosting Lawson State Community College in front of a packed and energized crowd.

Although CACC fell to Lawson State, 3-1, the inaugural home match marked a significant milestone for the newly established Lady Trojans volleyball program and provided an exciting night for the Prattville community.

The opening game featured a back-and-forth battle between the two teams. With the score tied at 20-20, Lawson State was able to make a late push and secure the first game of the match.

The Lady Trojans responded emphatically in Game 2. CACC came out firing on all cylinders and battled Lawson State to a 15-15 tie before taking control late. The Lady Trojans closed out the game, 25-20, to even the match at one game apiece.

Game 3 once again had the large crowd on its feet as both teams battled throughout the set. CACC continued to match Lawson State's intensity, but LSCC was able to edge the Lady Trojans, 25-23, to take a 2-1 advantage.

In the fourth and final game, CACC continued to battle, but Lawson State eventually pulled away to claim a 25-21 victory and win the match, 3-1.

Despite the loss, the night represented an important first for Central Alabama Community College as the Lady Trojans officially opened the doors to their new home volleyball program. The tremendous support from the Prattville community created an electric atmosphere and provided a memorable setting for the program's first home competition.

The Lady Trojans will return to action Monday, August 31, when CACC hosts Gadsden State Community College and Northwest Shoals Community College in a tri-match at the Prattville Campus. CACC will take the court at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
