Central Alabama Community College's Truck Driving Training Program prepares students for entry into the commercial transportation industry through hands-on instruction, classroom learning, and industry-focused training. Whether you are starting a new career in trucking or expanding your current qualifications, CACC offers Commercial Driver License (CDL) training options designed to help you gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed for success behind the wheel.
Training is delivered by experienced instructors and emphasizes safety, professionalism, vehicle operation, regulations, inspection procedures, and real-world driving experience. Graduates are prepared to pursue employment opportunities in a variety of transportation and logistics fields, one of the nation's most in-demand industries. Both CDL Class A and CDL Class B training options are available to meet different career goals.
CDL Class A
The CDL Class A Truck Driver Training Program provides comprehensive instruction for individuals seeking careers operating tractor-trailers and other combination vehicles. This intensive six-week training program combines classroom instruction, range exercises, and road driving experience to prepare students for the Alabama Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A examination.
A Class A CDL opens the door to a wide range of career opportunities, including long-haul trucking, regional transportation, freight hauling, and specialized commercial driving positions. Students learn vehicle inspections, backing maneuvers, coupling and uncoupling procedures, safe driving techniques, federal regulations, and transportation industry best practices.
Upon successful completion of the program and CDL testing requirements, graduates are prepared for entry-level employment with trucking and transportation companies throughout Alabama and across the country.

CDL Class B
The CDL Class B Truck Driver Training Program is designed for individuals seeking employment operating single vehicles that require a commercial driver license, including buses, dump trucks, utility vehicles, delivery trucks, and other heavy commercial vehicles. This focused three-week training program provides students with the essential knowledge and practical driving skills needed to obtain a CDL Class B license.
Students receive instruction in vehicle inspections, safety regulations, defensive driving practices, vehicle control, and commercial transportation requirements. Emphasis is placed on developing the skills necessary for safe and effective operation of Class B commercial vehicles in a variety of work environments.
A Class B CDL can lead to employment opportunities in public transportation, construction, municipal services, utility operations, delivery services, and other industries requiring qualified commercial drivers.
